Chocolate Primotalii vs Remmertalii – Which Is Hotter?

NZ Pepper Reviews put one of the hottest benchmark peppers in the world to the test — a huge Chocolate Primotalii — specifically to see how it stacked up against Rata Farm’s Remmertalii.

Going into the review, he was clear about the comparison.

Chocolate Primotalii had been the hottest pepper he had eaten before trying Remmertalii earlier in the season, and this test was about one thing: finding out which one really hit harder.

The pod itself looked savage.

Once cut open, the black blade was immediately coated in oil, with a thick placenta running almost the full length of the pepper.

He described the smell as “pure pain.”

Then he ate it.

The heat was immediate.

Unlike Remmertalii, which he described as a slower builder that continues climbing for several minutes, the Chocolate Primotalii hit hard from the start.

The burn spread through the roof of the mouth, upper tongue and deep into the back of the throat, with heavy drooling and a lingering, breath-catching heat.

Flavour-wise, he picked up strong earthiness, some floral character and a slight bitterness at the end.

It was brutally hot, but still a clean, powerful superhot experience.

Then came the comparison everyone wanted.

“Already I think the Remmertalii is hotter than that.”

He went on to describe the Chocolate Primotalii as one of the hottest pods he had received that season, rating it around 7 to 7.5/10 for heat.

Even so, his view remained the same:

Remmertalii still appeared to have the edge.

He planned to eat an F3 Remmertalii the following night to settle the question once and for all.
